What is "The Usual"
"The Usual" is the common currency of fanzine fandom. Generally, it means that
a fanzine is available on any of the following bases:
- Trade
- I'll show you mine if you show me yours.
It's good to exchange zines with other editors...
- LoC
- A letter of comment on an issue gets you a copy of the next one
- Show of Interest
- Just ask for a copy -- we may have some spare.
(Stamps (UK) or IRCs (rest of the world) to cover your preferred postage speed
for about ten sheets of standard paper would help)
- Editorial Whim
- Just because...
Cybrer Bunny is also available on the following, less standard, bases:
- Contribution
- Pieces for CB tend to be individually solicited, and then passed
to artists for appropriate illustration (that's when we're not passing artwork to
writers...) but in general the offer of a piece gets you the next issue, and perhaps more.
- Cold Hard Cash
- Not part of the traditional "usual" -- fanzine fans
tend to have a thing against subscriptions and cover prices -- but
something that is coming in more frequently these days. Cybrer
Bunny costs around about 50p to £1 (about ¢75 to $1.50) to print each issue, and then
there's postage on top of that...
- Neat Stuff
- Small, everyday objects from around the world. No Oreos or Kool-Aid though, please.
